Vita-what? A Closer Look at Vitamins

So the extent of your vitamin knowledge is that if you eat too much carotene, which is broken down to Vitamin A by the liver, you could turn orange. Okay, so maybe you know a bit more than that, but do you know what each vitamin and mineral does for our bodies and what are some good sources of each? Let’s face the facts, most people know it’s good to get your daily allotment of vitamins and minerals, but rarely do we know why…or where to get them from. Well, today is the day we find out.

Vitamins can be broken down into two groups: water-soluble (Vitamin C and B-complex) and fat-soluble (Vitamins A, D, E, and K). Each vitamin group has a vast array of different benefits, often intertwining and working together to help your body perform normal and necessary functions.
