We are definitely going to try the apple volcano! Sounds like fun and yummy too! Do you have any ideas for more savory snacks? My kids are picky fruit eaters but they love veggies and crunchy (and salty) snacks.
You’ll have to let me know how the apple volcano goes over! As for encouraging more fruits in the diet, try making a homemade yogurt parfait. Start with some greek yogurt and add some granola (I prefer the vanilla flavored type). Then add your fruit: strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and others you think they’ll enjoy. The sweeter the fruit the more dessert like the parfait will taste.
Another option is making a fruit smoothie. This can be rather refreshing on a hot day. Once again, start with greek yogurt in a blender. You can add a bit of milk for added liquid if you so choose. Add a banana, strawberries, blueberries and other fruits. I like to add spinach for the added antioxidant blast but this may be easier to do without them noticing as it seems spinach has a built in child repellant. : p
Add a few ice cubes to the mixture and blend it up. They won’t even realize what they’re drinking is healthy and giving them their daily fruit!
